Who we are:

Oregon Community UMC is a quaint little chapel nestled back on Creek Road in the village of Oregon--just North of Oregon Dairy. The worship includes traditional hymns and an engaging, practical, Bible-based message. It provides an intimate atmosphere where you can get to really know other people and have them care for you. Oregon Community is not just a name, it really speaks to who we are. If you are looking for a worship community where you can get to know people and be known, Oregon Community UMC may be the place for you.

Worship Services Have Been Moved to a FULLY ONLINE FORMAT in Response to COVID-19 Corona Virus

We are broadcasting our Worship Services via Facebook Live each week at 10:30AM. Please click on Sermons on the Menu Bar on the left side of the screen to see the links for the upcoming sermons (or to watch prior sermons) and daily devotional videos.

Response to the COVID-19 Corona Virus Pandemic: We are moving all Worship Services, Bible Studies and meetings online until it is safe to meet again in person

At Oregon Community UMC we care deeply about our church family and our neighbors. We want all of you to stay healthy and safe. Therefore, we have suspended all gatherings and have moved Worship Services, Bible Studies, Sunday School, and meetings online. We have been closely monitoring the updates on COVID-19 and will make adjustments as information is made available for a safe re-opening. We are still urging everyone to follow the Federal and Pennsylvanian guidelines to stay at home except to go out for essential errands (like grocery shopping) and for essential workers to do their vital jobs.

If there is anything that we can do for you during this season please let us know. If you need medication or food delivered to you, if you find yourself struggling to pay bills, or if you need someone to talk to as you deal with the stresses of all that is going on, please call or email Pastor Jason. If you are in a position to show kindnesses to neighbors and strangers, we encourage you to let this current season bring out the very best in all of us as we care for one another.

Join Us for Our Virtual Workshop of Wonders Vacation Bible School on Wednesdays, July 15th Through August 12th (CLICK ON VBS 2020 for more details)

VBS Logo: Worskshop of Wonders

We wish that this summer’s VBS were an in-person event, but out of concern for the safety of families & volunteers we have decided to hold a virtual VBS this year. We can offer families the very best alternative with this online format and a chance to still connect using digital technologies.

We will hold VBS via Zoom evey Wednesday from July 15th through August 12th from 6:30 to 7:15 pm using the Workshop of Wonders curriculum. There will be some live and some pre-recorded portions to each session. Our curriculum will include skits, videos, science experiment demonstrations, music, Bible lessons & memory verses, conversation and games. We hope it will provide families something to look forward to each week and will be a positive learning experience.

We intend to make it as simple for families as possible. If the time is not convenient for you, a recorded version of the session will be available on our website to watch at your convenience. We will arrange for contactless pick-up of kits prior to VBS to provide children with all the supplies they need for optional crafts and handouts related to each lesson to do at home. Student registration forms are available by calling 717-560-0321 or register online at or by downloading this PDF of the Registration Form to print. Please register as soon as possible so that we have time get you a VBS Kit. Once you register you will receive information about how to log into Zoom and times when you can stop in to get your VBS Kit.

Chatting at the General Sutter - Mondays at 7pm -- MEETINGS RESUMING ON JULY 13 VIA ZOOM

Chatting at the General Sutter Inn normally takes place every Monday from 7-8pm, using a curriculum called The Wired Word. We will discuss various topics that have been in the news—making space for different opinions and for folks to enjoy an evening of conversation. Perhaps we will learn something new. This group is open to everyone, so please invite friends to join you.

While we used to meet at the General Sutter Inn in Lititz we will currently be meeting online via Zoom until it is safe to gather in person again--whether at the General Sutter or at an alternate location. We are also merging this group with the Philosopher's Club since the goal of both groups has been to instigate friendly discussions around interesting and sometimes controversial topics that have social, community, philosophical and theological angles.

We will restart these two small discussion groups on Mondays starting on July 20 at 7pm by Zoom. These sessions will be lead by Pastor Jason. Join us at:

We will also work as a group to decide how to move forward—whether to continue to meet online or at a restaurant, the church, or outside. We will also discuss what topics and discussion formats best work for everyone as we relaunch.

Visit for more info of the upcoming topics. Please like and follow us on Facebook to get weekly updates: Chatting at the General Sutter - Lititz.

Pastor Jason has guided this small group in discussions on a variety of philosophical and theological questions that people raise about God, faith, the meaning of life, morality, the nature of evil, etc. We will be merging this group with Chatting at the General Sutter (see above) at least temporarily. You are invited to join us for these weekly discussions.
