Who we are:
Oregon Community UMC is a quaint little chapel nestled back on Creek Road in the village of Oregon--just North of Oregon Dairy. The worship includes traditional hymns and an engaging, practical, Bible-based message. It provides an intimate atmosphere where you can get to really know other people and have them care for you. Oregon Community is not just a name, it really speaks to who we are. If you are looking for a worship community where you can get to know people and be known, Oregon Community UMC may be the place for you.

You may now make donations to Oregon Community UMC online through a VANCO account hosted by the EPA Annual Conference. Click DONATE to begin the process. You can choose to create a Profile which will allow you to more easily make and track donations in the future. You can make a one time donation or a recurring donation. After you enter the amount you wish to donate and the date, a second page will open that will ask for your address and contact information so that you will receive a record of your donation. That page will also prompt you to select a gift to select either a particular church (Oregon Community UMC is on the dropdown list) or a gift to the Annual Conference funds. If you have any problems using this system, please contact Pastor Jason at email@example.com or 717-333-9238.
Response to the Corona Virus Pandemic:
We have now reopened most of our activities in person. At Oregon Community UMC we care deeply about our church family and our neighbors. We want all of you to stay healthy and safe. Having carefully reviewed all of the data points in our area--including new cases and vaccinations--we believe that it is currently safe to meet in person with appropriate precautions in place. So, we are still seated every other row but you can now choose whether or not you wish to wear a mask in the building.
Junior Church via Zoom -- Sundays at 9:00am -- We will start meeting again in September after taking a break for the summer
The ROCK Youth Group (5th-12th grade) at Faith UMC in the Education Wing from 5-7pm
Join us for The R.O.C.K. Youth Group meetings at 5-7pm each Sunday night in person at Faith UMC. We'll check in with how you're doing, play some games, pray, do a Bible Study, and just chat. Feel free to invite friends, too. All youth entering 5th-12th grades are invited to join us--as well as those who just finished 4th Grade. Please bring a mask in case it is needed due to the health of others in the group. We may meet outside so that we can socially distance and unmask.
Chatting Group - Mondays at 7pm VIA ZOOM
Chatting normally takes place every Monday from 7-8pm, using a curriculum called The Wired Word. We will discuss various topics that have been in the news—making space for different opinions and for folks to enjoy an evening of conversation. Perhaps we will learn something new. This group is open to everyone, so please invite friends to join you. Our goal is to instigate friendly discussions around interesting and sometimes controversial topics that have social, community, philosophical and theological angles.
While we used to meet at the General Sutter Inn in Lititz we are currently meeting online via Zoom. Stay tuned for when we are ready to gather in person again. The NEW Zoom Link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86190453518?pwd=cEVDeDljeThaaWVlYjlQWmZjTm5oUT09

Servant Saturday (usually the first Saturday of each month)
What does Servant Saturday mean? From small tasks to large, we ask everyone to give extra to the world around them that day. As Christians, we are to give of our time, talents, treasures and service continually. But sometimes we get entangled with the world around us and the giving falls to the background. We are asking everyone to give of themselves consciously on Servant Saturday. This is usually the first Saturday of the month--but since we keep it tied to Communion Sunday (always the first Sunday of the month) we will sometimes serve on the last day of the month (for example, July 31, 2021). Here is a list of ideas for serving!
Maybe you can give of your time, even a few hours, to volunteer at a local animal shelter. Or, it could be, using your talents to help build a home with Impact Ministries or Habitat for Humanity. Perhaps you dig into your wallet to donate money for a shelter for abused women and youth or a pre-school in South Africa. You may find that spending time in prayer for others or fasting is the best use of your talents. There are many ways to help the world in which we live--locally or globally.
Downtown Ministry on Servant Saturday from 2-5pm
We have developed a ministry of providing food as well as blankets, scarves, gloves, hygiene products, etc. for people who are homeless. We are doing this on Servant Saturday afternoons before our Sunday Communion services. We will meet at 2pm and cook a hot meal at Faith UMC, and then go downtown to deliver it by 4pm. If you’d like to help, please contact Diana Valentine at 717-435-8577. We need people to help cook, prepare donations, deliver food, pray, etc.
